I'm always fascinated about those moments when an artist starts playing a song for the first time live. So often you hear old bootlegs where one of your favorite songs is played, but since it hasn't been released no one in the crowd knows it. So instead of a big concert moment you're left with an intimate one where the person singing still really feels ownership of the lyrics. So when I was watching this special on Neil Young playing on the BBC in the early 70's I was pretty excited when he played "Old Man" and had to introduce it. Check it out:
